Sienna is a novel judy began working on, we believe, starting in the late 1970s or early 1980s, and continued revising, editing, rewriting until days before her death. There is no clear final draft. The complete book is over 600 pages long and has 85 chapters (give or take). Only the first six chapters have been placed online here (we promised we’d try and have the complete book published, so consider this a teaser). When judy began the book, Sienna as a person’s name was almost unheard of. With its increasing popularity as a name, judy was giving serious thought to change the title of the book and Sienna’s name. The alternative she came up with was Coquelicot; we’ll never know for sure what her ultimate decision would have been.

In addition, judy had begun work on a sequel, Aynsley, focusing on Sienna’s daughter. Sienna is entirely a work of fiction, however, aspects of the character of Jason Sno was (very) loosely based on judy and Terry’s good friend, Robert St. John.
